I think we'll get dingos since a lot of people in some african tribes train them to be like hunting dogs. And notice that the build for an R/P they had was 'Pack Hunter'. Lions, hyenas, wolves, and dingos are a few animals that hunt in packs. Elephants, monkeys, and crocidiles dont hunt in packs, so they might not be pets.

Nah, you're getting confused with Australian Aborigines. Although the Moa was actually a real, if now extinct, bird in New Zealand...

i love i love the idea of training a new rhino or giraffe or something (i usually stay away from pets that have the same shape as the stalker since they all have the same shape except with the different skin)... but i hate the idea of having to train it for a day just to get it to dire.

And the Moas of GW are based on real birds too (the extinct "terror birds" of the Americas)...

those terror birds on TV really did remind me of those moa birds on GW....

I'm hoping the elite pet of factions will be a "ksdjaosidjkoaijdoijasoi-osaur" because then it'd be easier to spot >=(

I think we will see scorpions, although tey will be too much like devourers!

A sphinx would probably look too much like griffons!

I doubt it would be a camel, as they really don't attack people, well other than spit in their faces! And no not even for storage!

It will more likely be wild dogs, jakals etc..and scarabs or maybe birds like the ibis, cats were a big thing in egypt. Could be an aardvark! or porcupine or zebra or pangolin or baboon or macaques

You'll have to wait 'til Guild Wars Campaign 7 (working title codename "Montezuma's Revenge"), which uses a South American theme.

Seriously now, I expect to see:
* Wild cats (Lion / Leopard / Black Panther / Cheetah / ...)
* Wild dogs (Hyena / Jackal / Desert Fox / ...)
* Buffalos / deer (Gnu / Antelope / Oryx / ...)
* Monkey (Gorilla / Baboon / ...)
* ...

The following I'd like to see, but don't expect to:
* Giant Snake
* Giant Scorpion (Joe FTW!)
* Crocodile
* Hippopotamus
* Rhinoceros
* Vulture
* ...

I'm not sure if crocodiles and elephants are possible as pets due to their sizes. Elephants would be too big (bigger than even the bear) and while crocodiles are not as huge, they are quite lengthy (at least twice the length of the dune lizard?). Of course this assumes that Anet really follows the scales Then again, we have gigantic scorpions in Prophecies XD

Ok, if there is no Monkey (any type), I'm going to be seriously disappointed.

I'm using Tear Windscreen Wiper's Off on Ford Mondeo!!!
I'm using Scratch Monkey Balls

etc..

This might sound a tad bit daft, but i'd like a mountain goat who's horns grow with each level.

Maybe there'll be more bird like pets that can fly a bit. Like a vulture..
I want a mountain goat though..

i could go for a goat^^

Id like a swarm of scarabs as a pet, but somehow i doubt that will happen.

any monkey will make me happy

However, to all yalls dismay- Im going to go out on a limb and not expect any kind of 'grazing animal' to join our ranks. that would be like if Prophecies had a 'pack mule' or 'cow' type pet.

my speculation on pets NOT charmable-
antellope/gazel/llama/etc -> too non-rangery (its true!)
giraffe/hippo/elephant/rhino -> too big
tigers (already done)

speculation on pets that ARE charmable-
monkey/ape/LEMUR lol
lion/cheetah
hyena/jackyl
crocodiles/snakes
giant insect
